[LS 600d] Power Options FAQ

Power Options FAQ LS 600d

IS THE LS 600D CAPABLE OF CHARGING BATTERIES LIKE THE LS 600D PRO?

The LS 600d utilizes the same multi-voltage battery plates and 48V DC input as the LS 600d Pro, allowing it to use the same batteries. The LS 600d Pro, however, also has an additional and unique circuit design that allows it to actively charge V-Mount and Gold Mount batteries when under load or inactive, provided that the fixture is connected to AC power, unlike any other non-“Pro Light Storm” LED.

HOW CAN I POWER THE LS 600D USING BATTERIES?

The LS 600d has two primary means of battery operation. LS 600d fixtures can be purchased in V-Mount and Gold Mount variants, which dictate the battery compatibility of the included control box. These V-Mount and Gold Mount battery plates are compatible with multiple voltages, including 14.4V/15A, 26V/8.5A+, and 28.8V/7.5A+ batteries. When using two matching batteries that meet these requirements, the batteries produce up to 360W of power and operate the LS 600d at half output. To operate the LS 600d at full power using DC battery solutions, users should utilize the 48V/15A 3-Pin XLR DC Input. Using a regulated 48V block battery or power station (such as the GenEnergy Monster Kit) with enough power output, users can operate the LS 600d at full power. We also suggest using solar generators or AC Battery Inverters for longer-term usage.
