[Sidus Four] Wi-Fi Channel Selection

Sidus Four Wi-Fi Channel Selection in V2.0 and Later

Wi-Fi Channel Selection

Sidus Four offers the ability to manually select which Wi-Fi channel is used on your Sidus Four. This adjustment fine-tunes how your Sidus network communicates — especially useful in crowded RF environments where dozens of devices compete for space.

WiFi Channel

Using a 3rd party Wi-Fi Scanner, the Wi-Fi traffic can be viewed and the user can select a different Wi-Fi channel.

Real-World Example

Imagine you’re on a commercial shoot. Phones are everywhere. Wireless follow focus is chewing up the 2.4GHz bandwidth. The video village has its own network, and everything’s buzzing with signals.

Even though your Sidus Four system runs on its own private network, it’s still operating in the same airspace. All that wireless traffic can cause control delays or sluggish app performance — and that’s the last thing you want when precision matters.

That’s where manual channel selection comes in. It gives you control over interference, letting you dodge the noise and keep your lighting system running reliably.

Benefits at a Glance

  • Cuts down on interference in busy environments
  • Boosts responsiveness between the app and your transmitter
  • Helps ensure stable, reliable control across all your connected lights
