Sidus Link Pro - Cue Stacks
An ordered list of cues that play in sequence with the Go button. How to build, run and edit a cue stack. Pro / MAX feature.
Overview
A Cue Stack is an ordered list of cues that play in sequence with the tap of a Go button. Cue Stacks are how lighting operators run a show: Cue 1 to start, advance to cue 2, advance to cue 3, etc.
If you have not built a cue yet, read Recording and Managing Cues first.
When to Use a Cue Stack
-
Live performance - Theater, concerts, fashion shows, etc. where cues fire in an ordered fashion.
-
Multi-scene productions - The look needs to step through several states in order for a scene.
-
Show rehearsals - Rehearse the show by tapping Go to advance and adjust each cue's attributes as needed.
For impromptu look changes where order does not matter, use individual cues or Quickshots instead.
Plan Requirement
Cue Stacks are available on the Pro and MAX plans. See Plans Overview.
Building a Cue Stack
-
Select fixtures and set parameter levels.
-
Choose a Cue Master at the bottom of the screen and hit the REC button on the right side of the screen.
-
Name the cue, select a cue action and press OK.
-
Clear the stage by pressing Clear on the right.
-
Press the green Go button on your newly created Cue Stack and watch your fixtures turn on at their saved values in the cue.
- Repeat the process for each successive cue in that cue stack.
Running a Stack
Select the stack and tap Go. The first cue fires. Each subsequent Go advances to the next cue.
-
Go Button- Advance to the next cue.
-
Back Button - Return to the previous cue.
-
Pause / Continue Button - Pause and Continue an in-progress cue sequence running in a loop with follow cues.
Editing a Stack Mid-Show
You can edit a stack while it is running:
-
Adjust an upcoming cue's fade time without affecting the cue currently playing.
-
Reorder cue masters with drag-and-drop.
Stacks and Masters
A Master fader can hold the overall level of a stack down so cues fade up into a dim version of the look, or to take the stack offstage temporarily. See Using Masters.
Multiple Stacks Side by Side
You can have several stacks open at once - one for the main show, one for atmospherics, one for a special segment. Each has its own Go button and runs independently. Cross-fading between stacks happens at the fixture level: each cue tells each fixture the parameter levels to implement and the most-recent cue has priority per fixture.
