If the light you want to control with Sidus Link Pro does not have a profile in the "Select a Profile" library window, here's how you can create your own custom Profile.
- First, go to the manufacturer's website and locate the DMX Chart, DMX Profiles, DMX tables, or other documentation created by the manufacturer that details the various DMX profiles that their fixtures operate with. You will need this for reference when creating your own custom DMX profile to be able to control their lights.
- Tap the Green Plus Sign in the corner to Add a New fixtures
- Tap the Plus Sign tile for Add new fixture.
- On the Select a Profile Pop-up, then tap "Create New Profile"
- Enter in the Fixture information such as Manufacturer, Series, Model, Profile number (according to the documentation provided by the manufacturer), and Profile Name (such as "CCT, RGBAL, Strobe" including if the profile is 8 bit or 16 bit).
- Next Select the Number of DMX Channels required for the DMX Profile.
- From the Parameter list, add the DMX parameters in the correct order.
- Many Parameters will have a default value for the light to be turned on at when selected from the Fixture List and brought to the Stage. For Example, the default Color Temperature may be set to 3200k.
- Many Parameters also have a minimum value and maximum value. For example, the Color Temperature Minimum could be 2,000K and the maximum value could be 10,000K
- The Crossfade and Preset Icons have many common parameter configurations in the drop down menus.
When successfully creating custom DMX profiles, there is usually a bit of trial and error. Try adding a letter in the custom profiles or a version number like "v3" in the naming to denote which version of the custom profile, you are trying to build in case the first few versions of the custom profile we create do not control the light as we expected them. In this case, you may have to build multiple versions before they are sufficient for your uses.
