[Sidus Link Pro] Quickshots
Save and recall groups of Sidus Bluetooth fixture looks with a single tap. Available on every plan including Free.
Overview
A Quickshot saves the intensity and colors of your active Sidus Bluetooth fixtures into a one-tap look. Tap a saved Quickshot to push that look to all your Sidus BT lights at once. It is the fastest way to switch between multiple looks on set without cueing, DMX, or subscriptions.
Quickshots are available on every plan, including the Free Plan, and work with any Aputure or amaran light that supports Sidus Bluetooth.
When to Use Quickshots
Quickshots are designed for fast, wireless look changes over Bluetooth. Use them when:
You want to switch between a handful of lighting looks without building a cue stack.
You are working Bluetooth-only and do not have (or do not need) DMX cueing.
You need a quick way to recall a saved look on the fly - for example, "day interior", "night interior", "talent close-up".
You want to include lighting effects (System FX, Picker FX, Magic Program, Magic Infinity FX) in a saved look.
Quickshots send commands through the Sidus Mesh network. Each fixture receives the command as it propagates across the mesh, so changeover is not instantaneous - there is a small cascade as lights update. For most on-set work this is imperceptible, but if you need truly synchronous changeover across many fixtures, use a cue on the Pro or MAX plan instead. See Plans Overview.
Before You Start
Sidus Link Pro installed and signed in.
One or more Aputure or amaran lights connected over Sidus Bluetooth. See Getting Started with Sidus Bluetooth if you have not paired any yet.
Your scene open, with fixtures in Sidus BT View.
Recording a Quickshot
On the stage, set each Sidus BT fixture to the intensity and color you want to save. For example, three MC Pros at warm amber and a STORM 80c at full blue.
On the right toolbar, tap the Quickshot button to open the Quickshot Tray.
Tap the green + in the tray.
Give the Quickshot a name and a reference color. Use short names you can recognize at a glance ("Day INT", "Blue Wash", "Talent Hot").
Adjust the lights to a different look, then tap the green + again to record a second Quickshot. Repeat for each look you want saved.
You can include a lighting effect in a Quickshot. Open a fixture, tap the green Control button, and choose Effects. Apply a System FX or Picker FX, then record the Quickshot. On playback, the effect starts on every fixture that had one in the saved look.
Playing Back a Quickshot
To recall a saved look, tap its icon in the Quickshot Tray. The command propagates out through the Sidus Mesh, and each fixture updates to the stored intensity, color, and effect within a second or two.
You can switch between Quickshots as often as you want. Each tap overwrites the previous look on every Bluetooth fixture the Quickshot was recorded from.
Editing or Deleting a Quickshot
To remove a Quickshot you no longer need, open the Quickshot Tray and use the ••• menu on the Quickshot tile. From there you can rename, change the reference color, or delete.
To update an existing Quickshot, change the lights to the new look on the stage, then overwrite the Quickshot from its menu.
What Quickshots Do Not Do
Quickshots are a Bluetooth-only feature. They do not:
Control DMX or CRMX fixtures. For DMX-driven look changes, use a Cue on the Pro or MAX plan.
Provide synchronous changeover. Commands pass through the mesh, so changes cascade rather than snap.
Include timing or fades. Quickshots are instantaneous switches. For timed transitions between looks, use cues.
