Sidus Link Pro - Sidus BT View
The Workspace for controlling Sidus Bluetooth fixtures. No DMX, no addressing, no transmitter required. Available on the Free Plan.
Overview
Sidus BT View is the workspace for controlling Sidus Bluetooth fixtures in Sidus Link Pro. No DMX, no addressing, no transmitter. Just open the view, see your paired BT lights and tap to control.
Sidus BT View works on every plan, including the Free Plan. If you have not paired a BT fixture yet, start with Getting Started with Sidus Bluetooth.
What You'll See
Sidus BT View shows every fixture currently connected over Sidus Bluetooth as a fader on the stage:
-
Fixture Name - The model or the name you gave it.
-
Live Intensity - Current intensity.
-
Connection State - Solid icon = connected to the mesh; faded icon = out of range or powered off.
-
FX Indicator - Fixture UI will display System FX, Picker FX or Magic Program if they are running.
Adding Fixtures
-
Power on your Sidus BT fixtures and ensure that Sidus BT is enabled.
- Reset the fixture's Sidus BT by holding down the Back Button for 3 - 5 seconds.
-
Tap the green + in the top toolbar.
-
Choose Add Sidus BT Controlled Fixtures.
-
Tap each discovered fixture to add them to the project.
If a fixture does not appear, reset its Bluetooth: hold the back button (STORM) or the red dial (MC Pro) for 5 seconds. Then re-scan.
Controlling a Single Fixture
Tap a fixture fader to open its Parameter Controls:
-
CCT - Controls the intensity, color temperature and G/M.
-
HSI / HSIC+ - Controls Hue, Saturation and Intensity for full-color lights.
-
RGB - Controls the individual Red, Green and Blue color channels as well as overall intensity.
-
xy - Controls the xy coordinate color settings.
- Picker - Uses the iPads camera to match a captured color to the fixtures color output.
Controlling Multiple Fixtures
-
Multi-Select Fixtures - Used to adjust the same parameters on multiple fixtures at the same time.
-
Group - Used to group fixtures together for fast recall ("Practicals", "Background", "Color Wash").
-
Quickshots - Used to save and recall full looks across Sidus BT fixtures included in a Quickshot, in one tap. See Quickshots.
Master Node
Sidus Bluetooth fixtures form a self-healing mesh. One fixture acts as the Master Node, talking to your iPad and distributing commands to the rest. If the Master Node powers off, another fixture takes over automatically.
To extend a mesh that struggles to reach distant lights, add a Sidus One nearby in Wi-Fi mode. Sidus One can act as a Master Node to strengthen the network.
Mixing BT and DMX
A project can run both Sidus BT fixtures and DMX/CRMX fixtures at the same time. Sidus BT View is exclusive to Sidus BT fixtures, while Fixture View can be used to control both Sidus BT and CRMX/DMX fixtures.
What You Cannot Do in BT View
-
Patch DMX addresses (use Patching a DMX Fixture in Fixture View instead).
-
Send raw channel values (use Channel View).
-
Record cues (only capable with DMX/CRMX patched fixtures).
