[Sidus Link Pro] Recommended settings when using Sidus Link Pro with a Cerise Transmitter

Settings that we recommend using to get the best performance from your Cerise 1U, 2U, or 4U transmitter when using it with the Sidus Link Pro iPadOS app.

If you choose to use a Cerise 1U, 2U, or 4U transmitter with Sidus Link Pro, the following settings are what we recommend using to get the best operation.

As with all wireless devices, we recommend attaching the antennas to the transmitter before powering on the device.

Find the white SN Sticker on the Cerise transmitter. This white SN sticker will inform you of the IP address needed to log in to the Cerise web GUI to change the settings on the Cerise.

We recommend:
1. Navigate to the iPad settings in your iPad. Disable Wi-Fi on your iPad.
2. Connect the Cerise with your iPad using the USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 cable that came with your Cerise transmitter. The Hub that came with the Cerise is also suitable to be a part of this connection if you feel it necessary to be in line from the iPad to the Cerise transmitter.
3. In the left bar of the iPad system settings, below the WiFi settings, a new tab called "Ethernet" should appear as the Cerise starts automatically booting up as it receives power from the iPad. Tap into this Ethernet settings to see the Interfaces list.

4. In this list there should be an interface named with the Cerise name, model name, and an IP address.

5. Tap in to this Interface from this list to reveal the IPV4 Address settings. The settings that should work are:
Limit IP Address Tracking: Green
Configure IP: Automatic
IP Address: A similar IP address as the Cerise's IP address but with the last octet being off by at least 1 integer.

So if the Cerise's IP address is 169.254.40.2 then the iPad's IP address is fine to be something in the range from 169.254.40.1 to 169.254.40.255, as long as it is not exactly 169.254.40.2.

Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0 or 255.255.255.0

Configure DNS: Automatic
Configure Proxy: Off

6. Navigate to the Safari or iPad's web browser of your choice to access the Cerise WebGUI. This is done by opening your web browser, and entering in the IP address from the white sticker in to the address field of your web broswer.

So if the white sticker listed the Cerise's IP address as 169.254.40.2 then enter that in to the address field of your web browser.

7. Wireless CRMX Antenna Configurations: You should not have to change the General Settings or the Network Settings of the Cerise for it to work with Sidus Link Pro. The only thing that should be observed and adjusted if necessary is the Input Universe offset for each wireless antenna port.

To factory reset a Cerise, press and hold the BOOT button for 10 seconds, then release it, once the BOOT button illuminates purple short press it once.
This should be applicable to all Cerise transmitters updated to firmware version 1.6.4 or later. A factory reset will also reset the Cerise's IP address to whatever default it is on the white sticker on the device.
For instructions on how to update the firmware on the Cerise transmitter, see the User Guide here: https://www.ftsled.fr/user-guide/

7a. If your Sidus Link Pro app is outputting the default sACN Multicast as the Output Protocol then we recommend using:

sACN: 1 for the Wireless A output

sACN: 2 for the Wireless B output (if applicable for the 4U or 2U)

sACN: 3 for the Wireless C output (if applicable for the 4U)

sACN: 4 for the Wireless D output (if applicable for the 4U)

If your Sidus Link Pro app is outputting the alternative Broadcast Art-Net as the Output Protocol then we recommend using:

ArtNet: 1 for the Wireless A output

ArtNet: 2 for the Wireless B output (if applicable for the 4U or 2U)

ArtNet: 3 for the Wireless C output (if applicable for the 4U)

ArtNet: 4 for the Wireless D output (if applicable for the 4U)

We do not recommend using ArtNet: 0 for any wireless antenna ports as Sidus Link Pro is not able to patch or output Art-Net data to Art-Net universe 0.

7b. Open up Sidus Link Pro. Open a Folder and then a Project. Once in a project, tap the gear icon in the top bar to open the Project Settings menu. In this menu, Output Protocol should be sACN Multicast and the Universe Settings should be as follows:

Wireless A Output, sACN Universe: 1

Wireless B Output, sACN Universe: 2 (if applicable for the 4U or 2U)

Universe C Output, sACN Universe: 3 (if applicable for the 4U)

Universe D Output, sACN Universe: 4 (if applicable for the 4U)

If you choose to instead set the Output Protocol to be Broadcast Art-Net then the the Universe Settings should be as follows:

Wireless A Output, Art-Net Universe: 1

Wireless B Output, Art-Net Universe: 2 (if applicable for the 4U or 2U)

Universe C Output, Art-Net Universe: 3 (if applicable for the 4U)

Universe D Output, Art-Net Universe: 4 (if applicable for the 4U)

8. Wireless CRMX Antenna with Wired DMX Configurations: If you want to do hardwired DMX universes from the Cerise 2U or Cerise 4U with the four-port DMX node included with the Cerise transmitter, these are each the settings that we recommend using.

For the Cerise 2U, if your Sidus Link Pro app is outputting the default sACN Multicast as the Output Protocol then we recommend using to following:

sACN: 1 for the Wireless A output

sACN: 2 for the Wireless B output

sACN: 1 for the Wired C output

sACN: 2 for the Wired D output

sACN: 3 for the Wired E output

sACN: 4 for the Wired F output

For the Cerise 2U, if your Sidus Link Pro app is outputting the alternative Broadcast Art-Net as the Output Protocol then we recommend using:

ArtNet: 1 for the Wireless A output

ArtNet: 2 for the Wireless B output

ArtNet: 1 for the Wired C output

ArtNet: 2 for the Wired D output

ArtNet: 3 for the Wired E output

ArtNet: 4 for the Wired F output

We do not recommend using ArtNet: 0 for any outputs as Sidus Link Pro is not able to patch or output Art-Net data to Art-Net universe 0.

For the Cerise 4U if your Sidus Link Pro app is outputting the default sACN Multicast as the Output Protocol then we recommend using to following:

sACN: 1 for the Wireless A output

sACN: 2 for the Wireless B output

sACN: 3 for the Wireless C output

sACN: 4 for the Wireless D output

sACN: 1 for the Wired E output

sACN: 2 for the Wired F output

sACN: 3 for the Wired G output

sACN: 4 for the Wired H output

For the Cerise 4U if your Sidus Link Pro app is outputting the alternative Broadcast Art-Net as the Output Protocol then we recommend using:

ArtNet: 1 for the Wireless A output

ArtNet: 2 for the Wireless B output

ArtNet: 3 for the Wireless C output

ArtNet: 4 for the Wireless D output

ArtNet: 1 for the Wired E output

ArtNet: 2 for the Wired F output

ArtNet: 3 for the Wired G output

ArtNet: 4 for the Wired H output

We do not recommend using ArtNet: 0 for any outputs as Sidus Link Pro is not able to patch or output Art-Net data to Art-Net universe 0.

9. Once these settings are all in alignment then you should be good to start adding new DMX fixtures in to your Project file, linking them with the correct antenna of the Cerise with CRMX, and setting their DMX start address and DMX profile to match what you are adding to your show file for each lighting fixture.
