What USB Flash Drive Format and Capacity Are Supported for Firmware Updates?

Recommended USB-A or USB-C flash drive format and capacity for performing firmware updates on Aputure lighting fixtures.

Recommended Specifications:

• Format: FAT32

• Capacity: 128 GB or smaller

When performing firmware updates for Aputure lighting fixtures, we recommend formatting your USB-A or USB-C flash drive to FAT32 before copying the firmware files. This ensures maximum compatibility, as FAT32 is the most reliable format for our fixtures to read during the update process.

Formatting can be done using:

• Windows: Disk Management
• macOS: Disk Utility

Capacity Guidelines:
The maximum supported flash drive size for FAT32-formatted flash drives is 128 GB. Larger USB flash drives may exceed the read capacity of our fixtures, leading to update failures. Smaller-capacity drives are also fully supported.
