Sidus Link Pro - Sidus One vs. Sidus Four

Side-by-side comparison of Aputure's two wireless DMX transmitters. Use Sidus One for portable single-universe shoots, use Sidus Four for multi-universe rigs.

Overview

Sidus One and Sidus Four are Aputure's two wireless DMX transmitters for Sidus Link Pro. Both let your iPad control DMX and CRMX rigs wirelessly. The difference comes down to universe count, form factor and console integration.

Short version: pick Sidus One for portable, single-universe shoots. Pick Sidus Four for stage, concert, studio rigs or any application that needs multiple universes or console bridging.

Pick Sidus One If

  • You shoot narrative, commercial or small studio jobs.

  • Your rig fits in one universe (512 addresses).

  • You need a transmitter you can attach to your belt or can be readily portable.

  • You run on USB-C power - V-mount with USB-C, AC adapter or a power bank.

  • You also want a portable Sidus Bluetooth Master Node to extend your BT mesh.

Pick Sidus Four If

  • Your rig exceeds 512 addresses.

  • You run a lighting console and want to connect it wirelessly via Art-Net or sACN.

  • You install in a studio or venue and want a stationary, AC-powered transmitter.

  • You need multiple CRMX outputs.

  • You are on the MAX plan and want to use all of its multi-universe capability.

Sidus Four works on the Pro plan too, but only 1 of its 4 universes is active. Upgrade to MAX to use all four. See Plans Overview.

What They Have in Common

Can I Use Both?

Yes. You can run a Sidus One and a Sidus Four on the same project to extend coverage or split routing - for example, Sidus Four feeding the main rig and Sidus One on a stand at the back of the room covering distant fixtures.
