[STORM CS32] Air Deflector

The STORM CS32 Air Deflector is an accessory built for STORM CS32 matrix installations. It forcibly redirects the hot air exhausted from the top of each Lamp Head toward the rear of the fixture, so that densely packed units stop blowing exhaust into one another.

Because each fixture no longer recirculates its neighbor's hot air, temperature rise across the array drops and the matrix stays stable under full load, which raises the overall power density a single matrix can sustain.

Installing the Air Deflector

The Air Deflector fastens to the top of the Lamp Head with the four included Thumb Screws. No tools are needed.

  1. Align the screw holes on the Air Deflector cover, marked ① and ②, with the corresponding screw holes on the lamp body, marked ① and ②.
  2. Hold the Air Deflector against the Lamp Head so the holes stay lined up.
  3. Thread in all four Thumb Screws by hand and tighten them until the deflector is firmly seated.

The Air Deflector becomes a high-temperature component during use. Let the fixture cool before you handle or remove it, and avoid burns.

Matrix Layout

In a matrix, every CS32 Lamp Head carries its own Air Deflector, so each unit vents to the rear instead of into the fixture above it. The diagram below shows a fully populated array with deflectors fitted throughout.

The Air Deflector lets a matrix accommodate higher-power fixtures. If the ambient temperature is too high, the fixtures may still reduce their power output to protect themselves.
