[Education] Color Modes Explained
How to pick your color mode.
HSI: This is a standard color mode that most people who use color-mixing lights should be familiar with. It stands for Hue, Saturation, and Intensity. Changing the Hue will change the target saturated color based on Hue Angle, like on a color wheel. Changing the Saturation will control how deep or dull a color is.
RGB: The RGB mode allows you to individually control the output of the Red, Green, and Blue LEDs independently. This is for users who know exactly what ratio they want to mix their colors in.
xy: xy is a standard for color mixing lighting fixtures that allows you to match a coordinate on the CIE 1931 color chart. Each coordinate corresponds to a different color on the chart. You can see a visual representation in the Sidus Link App. xy is used to match lighting between different manufacturers, as we all do our best to accurately calibrate our lights to match different xy values.
Gels: The Nova P300c & P600c have over 300 industry standard gels programmed in, and they are accessible via the control box or the Sidus Link App. You can operate Gel Mode in 3200K or 5600K as the base CCT, so you can more accurately match your existing fixtures.
