[INFINIMAT] Setup
Setup of INFINIMAT
1. Assembling the Aputure INFINIMAT 8x8
1. Use the Air Pump Max to inflate the INFINIMAT 8x8 Inflatable Softbox.
2. Take out the folded light body and unfold it to place it vertically.
3. Place the INFINIMAT 8x8 at the 2/3 position of the Inflatable Softbox and flatten it in order. Attach the Velcro of the Inflatable Softbox to the light body.
4. Attach the INFINIMAT 8x8 to a frame.
The hanging point sizes of the Inflatable Softbox are: 1.25" ID and 1.15" ID.
2. Using the Aputure INFINIMAT Air Pump Max
1. After connecting the Air Pump Max to AC power, press the button to turn on the switch.
2. After inserting it into the inflation point, tighten it clockwise.
3. By changing the direction of the position of the mounting port, you can switch between pumping and air intake.
The Air Pump Max is not waterproof, so be careful to cover it on rainy days.
Boost mode should only be used for short periods to avoid overheating.
3. Folding the Aputure INFINIMAT 8x8
1. Lay the diode side up.
2. Fold in half so that one diode side folds onto the other diode side.
3. M-fold along the LED Mat.
4. Ready for storage.
4. Assembling the Aputure INFINIMAT 20x20
1. After inflating the 20x20 Inflatable Softbox, lay 4 INFINIMAT 8x8 on the 20x20 Inflatable Softbox, and attach the 4 INFINIMATs to the Softbox using the built in hook and loop fabric strips.
2. After building the truss frame, place it on the top of the Inflatable Softbox, and tide the hanging points on the edge of the Inflatable Softbox to the truss frame by rope.
You can stand on the Inflatable Softbox to install and align the INFINIMATs. Please note that sharp or hard items rubbing against the Inflatable Softbox, could result in damage.
Truss Frame Dimensions: The Inflatable Softbox is 6m x 6m. It is recommended to use 72*3m Truss and 9*0.3m TRuss components to construct a 20x20 frame.
The hanging point sizes of the Inflatable Softbox are: 1.25" ID and 1.5" ID.
To ensure safety during use, please secure each hanging point.
5. Attaching the Aputure INFINIMAT Inflatable Softbox (8x8, 20x20)
1. Rotate the Air Pump Port Plug counterclockwise to open the port, insert the Air Pump Nozzle into the Air Pump Port, making sure the nozzle is attached to the Air Outlet. Rotate clockwise to lock the nozzle in place.
2. After connecting the Air Pump Max to AC POWER, press the button to turn on the switch to start inflating the Inflatable Softbox. Do not over inflate.
3. Use the Air Deflation Button to release air if the Inflatable Softbox is overinflated.
4. Place the INFINIMAT on the rear side of the Inflatable Softbox (with the Softbox Fastening Flaps), align all edges, and attach the flaps onto the INFINIMAT.
5. When deflating the Inflatable Softbox, ensure the Air Pump Nozzle is attached to the Air Inlet. Open the Air Pump Port, attach the nozzle and press the Power Button to start the defla-tion. Once all the air has been extracted, turn off the pump.
INFINIMAT Inflatable Softboxes are equipped with Overinflation Prevention Plug(s), that prevents the Softbox from damage due to excessive amounts of air being injected. Despite this feature, users should use caution when inflating.
6. Folding the Aputure INFINIMAT Inflatable Softbox 8x8
1. Open the deflation valve and use the air pump to deflate.
2. Fold in four equal parts to the center.
3. Fold in half again.
4. Fold again in four equal parts to the center.
5. Fold in half again.
7. Folding the Aputure INFINIMAT Inflatable Softbox 20x20
1. Open the deflation valve and use the air pump to deflate.
2. Fold the softbox in half.
3. Fold in four equal parts to the center.
4. Fold again.
5. Roll up the Storge.
8. Attaching the Aputure INFINIMAT Control Grid (8x8, 20x20)
1. Remove the INFINIMAT Control Grid 8x8, 20 x 20 from its Protective Bag and undo the Tie Downs to unfold it.
2. Attach the grid onto the Inflatable Softbox using the Fastening Flaps one side at a time, ensuring all the corners and fasteners are aligned well.
3. Use the Fit Adjustment Flaps to readjust portions of the grid if the resulting fit is unsatisfactory.
9. Folding the Aputure INFINIMAT Control Grid 8x8
1. Collapse the Control Grid diagonally so it becomes flat and fold in half.
2. Fold in half again.
3. Tie up using the hook and loop straps.
10. Folding the Aputure INFINIMAT Control Grid 20x20
1. Collapse the Control Grid diagonally so it becomes flat and fold in half.
2. Roll it up.
3. Use two straps, tied in a criss-cross shape to secure.
11. Attaching the Aputure INFINIMAT Control Skirt (8x8, 20x20)
1. Remove the INFINIMAT Control Skirt from the Aputure INFINIMAT 8x8, 20x20 Protective Bag and unfold it.
2. Attach the skirt onto the Inflatable Softbox using the Fastening Flaps one side at a time, ensuring all the corners and fasteners are aligned.
3. Use the Skirt Adjusting Zippers on four corners of the skirt to release each Control Skirt loose.
4. Use the Skirt Adjusting Fasteners to affix the curtains in desired positions/shapes.
12. lnstallation and Disassembly of the Control Box 1600w Dolly (*sold separately)
1. Unfold the Control Box Dolly.
2. Lift the Control Box and insert it into the quick release mechanism of the dolly.
3. To remove the Control Box from the dolly, press the release button and lift up on the Control Box.
4. Fold and store the dolly.
13. Connecting the INFINIMAT(s) to the Control Box 1600W
a.1x2 (100W), 1x4 (200W), 2x4 (400W), 4x4 (800w) and 8x8 (1600W) INFINIMATs are com-
patible with the Control Box 1600W.
b. Example output possibilities on the Control Box 1600W include:
i. 1X 1600W
ii. 2x800W
iii. 1x 800W and 2 x 400W
iv. 1x 200W and 2 x 100W v.2x200W
vi.1 X400W
On the Control Box 1600W, there are 5 output ports in total: (2) 1600W Head Cable ports (the D and E ports) and (3) 400W Head Cable ports (A, B, C ports). Upon inserting a lamp's head cable, the wattage is automatically recognized, and the corresponding Power Indicator Light will illuminate. Power is supplied sequentially through interfaces A-B-C-D-E. The Control Box can recognize the wattage of the lamp and determine if it can meet full power output. If not, it assesses if half-power output is feasible; if so, it proceeds with half-power output. If the Con- trol Box has no more power available to distribute, then it recognizes the lamp but refrains from outputting.
Separate indicator lights are provided to recognize the power of different lamp bodies.
GREEN | Full-Power for the INFINIMAT connected to this port. |
YELLOW | Half-Power for the INFINIMAT connected to this port. |
RED | Not enough Power for the INFINIMAT model connected to this port. |
OFF | No INFINIMAT detected on this port. |
