If your fixture has Studio Mode "ON": the Control Box will power on whenever power is supplied to it.

Popping sounds on initial startup and shutdown are normal. NOVA II utilizes a polycarbonate layer in its construction to marry low weight with high strength. This layer expands and contracts under thermal change.
