[Sidus Four] Firmware Update V2.0
Sidus Four Firmware Update V2.0 Explained
Released 4.29.25
Sidus Four Firmware Update V2.0 delivers a suite of enhancements focused on stability, responsiveness, and flexibility — no matter where or how you’re using your system. Whether you're managing lights on a film set, in a studio, or during live events, this update improves connectivity, and unlocks new tools for more confident control in complex environments.
Wi-Fi Channel Selection in Settings
Sidus 4 now allows you to manually set the Wi-Fi channel, improving network stability by choosing the optimal channel for your setup. This flexibility enhances your control over the Wi-Fi environment on set.
See Article Here for more information on Wi-Fi Channel Selection
2.4 GHz CRMX Channel Blocking
The ability to block specific 2.4 GHz channels for CRMX transmission allows you to avoid interference from devices like Follow Focus systems. This feature offers up to 10 channels to block, ensuring stable CRMX communication.
See Article Here for more information on CRMX Channel Blocking
Enable/Disable Click for Ports E-H
Ports E–H can be individually enabled or disabled. The Port will be red if the port is enabled but not receiving any DMX data. Previously, the wired DMX ports would not alert if data was not found. Click on the Port to turn the port On/Off.
Link Button Optimization
The system has been optimized for quicker linking in the Output menu. Once you're in the menu and have selected the universe, Sidus Four already selects the Link Button. Simply press Enter to link, making the process faster and more efficient.
Button Shortcut: Double Tap on a Wireless port to send Link Command.
DMX INPUT User Interface Update
When using the included 5-Pin DMX adapters to configure Ports E–H as DMX inputs, the interface provides clear visual feedback.
In this example, Port H is set as a DMX input and is actively routing its signal to the DMX transmitter connected to Port D.
Output Power Adjustment in Output Menu
CRMX output power control allows you to adjust the transmitter's power levels, giving you greater control over the signal strength of your CRMX transmissions. This feature helps you fine-tune your setup for optimal performance.
New Reboot Power Option
When selecting Power Off from the Main Menu, a new Reboot option is available. This allows users to restart the system for network resets without needing to physically unplug and reconnect the device.
New Default Linking Keys
The first four digits will all be unique to your Sidus Four, the second four digits will reflect Universe 1-4. XXXX0001, XXXX0002, XXXX0003, XXXX0004
Optimizations
- Data Connection Status – Ports display red indefinitely when no data is present. Previously they would only turn red for a short time.
- AC Power Loss Alert – Displays a full-screen error instead of a blinking banner.
- Port Status Visibility – Disabled ports now appear gray for clarity.
- Settings Menu Indicator – Changed outline color from red to white for better visibility.
- Multiple Universes Performance Issue – Improved performance when using multiple universes.
Bug Fixes
- Ethernet DHCP IP Display – Now correctly shows Ethernet IP in [Sidus Link Pro].
- Wi-Fi Signal Strength Indicator – Now displays signal strength when in STA mode.
- Network Protocol Selection Consistency – Should not change automatically when switching between Ethernet and Wi-Fi.
- Wired Ethernet Priority – Should take precedence over Wi-Fi to prevent Art-Net issues.
- STA Mode DHCP Issue – Now correctly adopts IP from DHCP servers.
- Wi-Fi Network Search Error Message Update – Clarified message when no networks are found.
- Ethernet DHCP IP Communication – Now displays IP information correctly in [Sidus Link Pro].
- CRMX Name not staying after reboot
- CRMX Transceiver On/Off UI Label – Corrected UI labeling for "ON - Click to Disable" and "OFF - Click to Enable."
