Sidus Link Pro - Sidus One

Aputure's pocket-sized wireless DMX bridge. 1 universe of DMX and CRMX from your iPad. Pro plan minimum.

Overview

Sidus One is Aputure's pocket-sized wireless DMX bridge. It is the hardware that lets Sidus Link Pro control DMX and CRMX fixtures from your iPad, without a wired connection between the iPad and the rig.

If you only need to control Sidus Bluetooth fixtures, you do not need Sidus One. See Getting Started with Sidus Bluetooth. Sidus One unlocks DMX and CRMX output for one universe (512 addresses) on the Pro and MAX plans.

What's in the Box

  • Sidus One transmitter

  • USB-C power cable

  • 5-pin to 3-pin DMX adapter

  • Quick-start guide

Hardware

  • 5-pin DMX out - Wired DMX output to a fixture or DMX node.

  • CRMX TX antenna - Wireless DMX output to CRMX-capable fixtures.

  • USB-C - Power input. Also used for firmware updates.

  • Mode button - Switches between AP and RX network modes.

  • Status LEDs - Power, network mode and CRMX link state.

  • 1/4"-20 mounting thread - Clamp to a stand, magic arm or Aputure accessory.

Network Modes

Sidus One connects to your iPad over Wi-Fi. It supports two modes:

  • AP Mode (Access Point) - Sidus One broadcasts its own Wi-Fi network. Your iPad joins it directly. Best for on-set use where there is no existing network, or where you want a clean isolated link.

  • STA Mode (Receiver) - Sidus One joins an existing Wi-Fi network. Your iPad joins the same network. Best for stage and studio environments with a dedicated Wi-Fi router.

For a deeper dive into network setup and recommended router settings, see Network Requirements and Wi-Fi Setup.

Capabilities

  • 1 DMX universe (512 addresses)

  • Wired DMX out via 5-pin XLR

  • Wireless CRMX out for CRMX-capable fixtures

  • Bluetooth Master Node - Extends a Sidus BT mesh when nearby

  • Pro plan - 1 universe

  • MAX plan - 1 universe (use Sidus Four for multi-universe)

Sidus One outputs one DMX universe. If your rig needs more than 512 addresses of DMX, you need Sidus Four. See Sidus One vs. Sidus Four.

When to Use Sidus One

  • Single-universe shoots (most narrative, commercial and small studio rigs).

  • You need a portable, battery-friendly transmitter you can clamp to a stand.

  • You want to control a mix of DMX, CRMX and Sidus BT fixtures from one iPad.

  • You want to extend the range of a Sidus Bluetooth mesh by placing a Sidus One near distant fixtures.

Setting Up Sidus One

  1. Power Sidus One via USB-C.

  2. Pick a network mode (AP for on-set, STA for studio Wi-Fi).

  3. Connect your iPad to the Sidus One network.

  4. Open Sidus Link Pro and follow Connecting Sidus One to Your iPad.

  5. Patch fixtures and start controlling. See Getting Started with DMX Control.

Firmware

Sidus One firmware updates are pushed through Sidus Link Pro. With Sidus One connected, the app prompts you when an update is available. See Updating Fixture Firmware.
