What is the difference between the Aputure Active USB-C DMX Adapter and the amaran USB-C DMX Adapter?
USB DMX Adapter and Troubleshooting DMX
The amaran products that take DMX are wired so the 3 actual DMX pins are assigned to the USB-C circuitry. So it is not a normal USB port, just a way to pass the data through the USB port to the DMX pins. The amaran DMX Adapter is only compatible with amaran Flex Mats and amaran Pixel Tubes.
The Aputure Active DMX adapter contains a small processor on the USB Adapter Output the DMX. That's why we call it "Active".
This is the most common question we get when troubleshooting DMX Control with the lights.
- Aputure Active USB-C to 5-Pin DMX In & Out Adapter: MC Pro, MT Pro, INFINIBARS
- amaran USB-C to DMX Adapter with USB-C Input: Flex Mats (F22c F21c F22x, F21x), Pixel Tubes (P2c, P4c),
So first thing to check if you are having trouble with your wired DMX signal on these products, Am I using the correct USB DMX Adapter?
The Aputure model says Aputure right on it.
